On the home page of KZR is a link to a PDF copy of the KZ1000 1981-85 maual you can download for free. The trans is the same.
I feel like I am repeating myself.

I'll try to keep this short. See, my good friend who knows these bikes very well and who had raced for Kawasaki, ..well, he was helping me with this shift fork problem. He disassembled my bike to replace the shift forks, and due to his employment and schedule, wasn't able to finish it in one night. Unfortunately, before he could finish the repair he had passed away. So, now I'm looking at something that I didn't take apart, and I don't know anything as to how to re-assemble it. I always take lots of pics and jot down notes while disassembling this kind of stuff. Financially struck and can barely afford toilet paper, ...I simply can't just run out and buy a manual. Don't feel bad or sorry for me though, I got 5 boys and 1 girl that I pay child support on. Health has been failing = can't work ...no work = no money. Awaiting for SSI case to be approved. Just this problem found me on hard times.
To make matters worse, it's gonna snow any day now, and my bike is not together, nor garaged.

The parts that I'd mentioned, I know what pins they each go on, how they're situated on pins, what their purposes are and all, I don't know where the tension springs fix to
