Gasket Brand Recommendations? was created by jayrodoh
Any preferred gasket kit recommendations for Kawasaki twins? I had a bad experience with my Yamaha on an aftermarket head gasket and cam tunnel gasket and ended up throwing almost $300 down on OEM. I'm okay with buying OEM but if there are some tried and true aftermarket kits I'd like to hear about them.

Aftermarket gaskets range in quality from passable to pure garbage. OEM is the safe bet.

No doubt Kawasaki OEM gaskets are the best. Thicker than aftermarket with a sealant coating. It seems partzilla has the best prices, but slow delivery.

Seems a lot of the gaskets for my bike are NLA from Kawasaki. I picked up a top end kit on eBay to start with, once I get the motor on the bench for winter I'll keep looking as I go. Thx!

Yeah, I think we're lucky with the J engine since it was built from "81 to 2005 on the police bikes, so more parts are still available.

Sales volume determines whether or not they keep making the parts.
