Always remember, someone could be faster than you on the other lane.
A mirror safes your life, this is the first lesson i learned in the 120+ mph range here on no speed limit German highways.

I have mirrors (one) on the bar end. CRG LS 3.2 mirror. I plan to get another for the right side.
True, I didnt signal as I changed lanes, but I pay RAPT attention to what Im doing when I drive and anticipate driver's moves. That video was taken at the start of my trip, which was about 3 hours in total. I pretty much drove that way the entire time. Im still OK
In this photo you can see the bar end mirror:

i took your advice to heart. I took the same CRG mirror off one of my other bikes, and put it on the right hand side about an hour ago. Now I have two mirrors on my Kawa. (I'll order a replacement for my other bike on Monday). I'll take a photo of it tomorrow. Your words made sense and really made an impact on me. Now I have mirrors on either side. Now I just have to learn to signal. haha.
Thanks a lot for words of wisdom.

It's my own damn fault of course but I avoid using signals unless I have to because I _always_ forget to cancel the stupid thing. So there I am 10 minutes later with my right signal flashing and the guy approaching me figures he's cool to turn left in front of me cause I'm going to slow way down to make the right turn I'm signaling for but have no intention of making.

Yeah they suck. When Im in city traffic I use them (barely) but on the highways, rarely, as you can see in the video. On my 77 Yamaha XS650, the signal shuts off after 15 seconds.

Yeah thats the thing, I ALWAYS turn my head to look, even though I have mirrors. Its an old habit from mountain biking, that wont die
