Just went to Autozone here in NYC to get a quart of Valvoline 4 stroke 20w50 for my Kawa.

Last month a quart cost me $5

Today with tax it came to $7

A few doors down from me a neighbor put his house up for sale. $4million and thats considered a STEAL in this neighborhood.

The world has gone MAD!!

I found the same thing here, I used to use Castrol 4t motorcycle oils but the price went from 3 bucks to 5.50 a quart.

I buy Rotella from Wal-Mart in the big jugs. It goes on sale sometimes for $28 bucks and I buy it.

Less than $3 a quart.

Well I did the math and the realtor's commission on that "steal" of a house is more than my house is worth in a good market.

So you could live in a 3000 sq.tf. house with a 3 car garage for less than the commission the salesman gets in your neck of the woods...

I use diesel engine oil too. Rotella is good, has MA certification, but I'll use just about any diesel oil.

I recently picked up some of this stuff. It has more ZDDP than Rotella and I know several guys that use it in their bikes and love it.

Yeah things are crazy in Brooklyn. Some of the highest real estate prices in the country.

So you can use diesel oil in an engine? I had no idea. I thought 4 stroke Moto oil only.

And what weights can I use? On both my KZ750 and my Yamaha XS650, manual says use 20W50

Yes, you can use diesel oil. Most bikes do fine on the most common weight - 15W-40. I've not looked at the manual on your bikes though.

Another excellent oil for bikes is Mobil 1 15W-50. www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-15W-50-Advanc...713647&wl13=&veh=sem

Lots of bike guys use this stuff and it's excellent. Far more ZDDP than your typical auto oil and it won't hurt your clutch.

Don't see where 15/50 advanced Mobil 1 is Jaso certified...... Mobil 1 20/50 V twin isn't either which surprised me.... was gonna mix .7 of a quart of this too 3 quarts of 10/40 but I guess not now and will just go with straight 10/40....... I might switch back too Mobil 4T 10/40 this fall from Valvoline 10/40 bike oil...... The Valvoline is at Farm and Fleet for 4.99 a quart JW unless they raise it due to the storm in Texas.

Try Ebay I found it at Pep boys there for 5.09 a quart with free shipping if you spend 35 bucks so 8 quarts would do you twice..... EDIT crap after looking at it again it might not qualify for free....... I get a 7 dollar charge for 8 shipped so that would get it up too 6 bucks a quart.... Or Maybe a Pep boys in New York if ones around ???

It's not MA certified. But tons of guys use it in bikes with wet clutches. There is a guy on The GS Resources with 75k miles on his bike using that oil and he says it runs like new. Besides, 20W-50 oils are not the ones that wreck clutches, it's the super thin "energy conserving" oils that do.
