KZ750 camshaft installation was created by biwithse7en
I was trying to install the camshaft and this would be the 10th times that I attempted to do. The problem was I couldn't get any clearance after installing the camshaft.

The way I install is according to the manual.

When I followed this step from the manual, with the exhaust cam pointed at the cylinder head surface with the exact pin from the picture, the sprocket wasn't fitted snugly, but it was kind of tilted and wobble. The same thing goes for inlet camshaft.
Is this a normal thing when you install camshaft? Because when i tighten the sprockets, they were fitted tightly, but there is no clearance.

Can I move the exhaust sprocket to a different pin and still put the inlet sprocket between 45th and 46th pin? This way, the sprockets will sit in snugly before I tighten they down.

Thank you for all of your help.

The sprockets must not be removed from the camshafts. Put the sprockets back on the cams and tighten the bolts per guidelines in the factory service manual.

Did you lock the cam chain tensioner before removing the cams? Did you remove the tensioner or is it still in place? Ed

I didn't remove the sprockets from the camshaft. What I meant was there was no clearance after installation and tightening the bolts per guidelines in the factory service manual.

No clearance where? Between what parts?

Sorry. Should have write down the whole thing, It is valve clearance. It is practically 0 clearance when I insert the feeler gauge.
Thanks.

Was there appropriate valve clearance before the cams were removed? Ed

If there is no valve clearance then you need thinner shims. Remove the buckets and take an inventory of the shims you have after reading the numbers on them and/or measuring the thickness, then plan accordingly and get new thinner shims. For example, if you have a 2.60 shim with no clearance then you will need a 2.50 most likely for that valve. It's a guessing game though.
