High Idle was created by Phillip14
Hi All,
I have a 1981 KZ305 and I do have the manual. After 10mins of running the idle sits at 2000RPM. The throttle cable is fine condition and the idle doesn't change if I move the cable itself. What I can't find is the screw to lower the idle, The Idle Adjustment screw. In my opinion the manual isn't very clear on what I should be adjusting and it doesn't seem to match up to what I have as well. Can anyone give me some advice on how to lower it some?
Please and Thank you

Pretty sure the black plastic knob on the LH carb is the idle stop screw.
An idle that increases for seemingly no reason after the engine warms up it typically from an air leak. Most common location is around the rubber carb boots that attach to the head. If you haven't removed them and checked them for cracks you might want to consider that.

Some carb sets have the idle knob between both carbs
Your carb set has a transmission to the left side for a better access

Thank you for the help, I checked for a vacuum leak first and then made a small adjustment to the black knob that you correctly pointed out as the idle speed control, didn't take much and its got a perfect idle now.
