Im rebuilding a 1981 KZ1000 J engine. Pistons are clean and rings are installed. All gasket surfaces are clean as well. Should i replace the head studs? Also should there be any silicone used on any of the gasket surfaces (crank case/cylinder block, cylinder block/head)?

Thanks

You did not have to replace the studs.
A thin layer of sealant at the cam chain tunnel for the O-ring is okay.
