The Mac exhaust is definitely louder, especially at idle, so avoid that one.

How's the sound? Can it be silenced a bit?

You can put a different muffler on it, That's the part of the Mac that makes for that sound. I have a Mac header with a Kerker muffler on it, and it sounds pretty good. Kerkers can be pretty quiet at idle, and then get loud as you rev it. It depends on the baffle size you have in it.
You can also try a Supertrapp muffler. The loudness of that will depend on how many diffuser you stack onto the exit of the muffler. I think they can be made pretty quiet as well. But they are not cheap.
Side note: The Supertrapp company now owns Kerker.
By the way, I think many people are waiting for Delkevic to make a system for the 550. They already made one for the 650/750 so hopefully it's just a matter of time.

It sounds like BB's vibrating in a coffee can. That description seems worse than it really is but that's sort of what it sounds like. A very hollow sound. The Mac muffler can't really be quieted much, and even if you did, it's still needlessly loud at idle.cbrianroll wrote: How's the sound? Can it be silenced a bit?

Are the ones you mentioned 4 into1? That wouldn't bother me at all. I had seen the delkevic for sale somewhere and it sounded promising, diner think of supertrapp....my mind always thinks dirt bike when I hear that name lol

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI agree with Lou, Supertrapp makes universal and serviceable silencers that can be adapted to a system. You can always add a silencer to the end of a 4-1 system. Most systems are already on bikes, so unless you want a parts bike, hold out if you can. These are on ebay, but a little too pricey.
