Hello guys.
I was getting ready to put the engine together the other day and noticed that right side crankcase where ignition pickup goes is cracked off pretty badly. Don't ask me how this happened. It could be me dropping the bike, or I may have dropped it or hit it with something heavy during the storage. I had this bike since mid-80' s, so I don't remember first half of it's life. Anyway, because of this, I was looking at evilbay for crankcase but there were several choices.
Now, I know somewhere between 81-83, Kawasaki changed how they mount the engine to frame (less hangers and bolts). What is my choice for replacement case? Because of where I live, the whole engine, which is not a bad idea considering what I need to do to get the bike running, is out of question due to shipping cost.
BTW, it's for my 82 KZ-R1/GPz750.

You are right. From the Gpz750A1 1983 they changed the crankcase therefore they are called ZX750A1 from there on.
So you should be looking for a crankcase from a KZ750E, KZ750R, KZ750L or KZ700L.
Then there is also the possibility to get it welded, let's see some pictures.

Thanks for your reply. I'll try take pictrure on my day-off and try post it here.
However, I know photobucket recently changed their policy, so I need to look for other site where they will allow third-party posting.................
