Oil cooler upgrade was created by RetroRiceRocketRider
Since I'm planning on taking the ZN to the Vegas BikeFest this year, and knowing just how freakin' hot it's going to be tooling through the desert on the way there, I decided to install the GPz750 oil pan and cooler I had onto the ZN rather than onto my KZ650 during it's rebuild.
The oil pan is a direct fit, and even uses the same gasket and o-rings as the GPz750 and KZ650 do.
The lower mounting holes on the oil cooler lined up perfectly with the pre-tapped holes in the frame. Yet even with just those two bolts holding it, it's super securely mounted.
The only mod I had to make was cutting the center brace off of the horn bracket, and then slightly bending the now individual horn brackets to clear the oil cooler once mounted to their original bolt holes in the frame.
I think it turned out pretty nice.
And during the little two hour ride (city streets and freeway) Rose and I took earlier today, I didn't feel quite as much heat radiating from the engine as it did prior to installing the oil cooler.

Cool shots, and I hope it cools the oil for you.

Thanks for the compliments guys!
Between running into the house every 15~20 mins to cool MYSELF down (the thermometer in the garage maxes out at 100, and I'm guessing it was prolly at least 110 in there:pinch:), I'd say it took roughly about three hours total from draining the old oil to adding new oil once everything was bolted up.

Here's what the oil cooler mounting looks on my '85 GPz 550:
Looks the same as yours, but upside down mounting.
