BTW with that part # it should come with the correct O rings. There's another one with the wrong ones.

Steve, But the big question is, will they fit ? I've been using Fram prior but the Auto Stores don't seem to carry them anymore and Wix seems to be a better filter.

Be glad the Fram filters are not carried. They are without a doubt the worst motorcycle oil filter on the market. Ed

Since the KZ oil filters are simpler, are those studies applicable?

I believe they are applicable. Considering that Fram uses the cheapest materials and assemblies in the non-KZ oil filters I have no reason to believe they would use higher quality materials in the KZ oil filters. The study at the link below compares motorcycle specific oil filters, and while the KZ filters do not have the metal shell and bypass valve they do share the filter media and some other aspects of the non-KZ filters. Notice in the second link below that at least some racing organizations have banned the use of Fram filters because of their failures.
The bottom line to me is that it makes sense to buy higher quality filters since they cost very little more than the Fram filters. Most folks change filters and oil at the very most only 2 or possibly 3 times per year, so we're not talking about a major expenditure. To me, for about $1 one can have a higher level of confidence in the oil filter which performs a very important role in protecting the engine, and to me that sounds like a bargain. Ed

OEM is always safest, and often worth the added expense. Some aftermarket oil filters are overly restrictive enough to turn on the oil light.

The Wix is slightly larger with more surface area. No problems since 13.

OEM filters are $18.00 buck's at our local Kawasaki dealer.
NAPA auto parts stores have the Wix filter for about $5.00 bucks and they also stock filter's for a lot of other bike's.
