Exhaust split collar? was created by Lenny0
So I purchased an exhaust from someone on here and it seems my split collars are about at least an inch too short. Anyone know where I could find longer ones? Or an idea how to correct this problem?

Those exhaust collars look correct to me. I have the same bike. The header tip flanges appear to be stock as well.

Do you know who made that exhaust system? It doesn't look like the KZ650 exhaust I'm familiar with. If it was made for a KZ650 it may use some special, aftermarket split keepers. Ed

That's what the stock 650-CSR header tips look like. Instead of being flared like the earlier models, the CSR & many other 80s models have flanges welded to the ends.

nos 750E mufflers that were listed on eb for about a thousand bucks. and no, I didn't splurge. hee.

That's the stock exhaust system in the photo. I need split collars that are the length of the stock collar that's welded on the exhaust plus the length of the split collar. The exhaust I bought is an off brand 4 to 1 that was mounted on a '79 kz650.

So your header tips are flared. You'll probably need either the 1980-&-earlier collars. or maybe Kerker collars will work.

flared header tips.

Yeah they're flared. Here's a photo of them on the aftermarket exhaust.

The earlier factory collars like 650Ed posted might work, but more than likely you will need to get a set from the pipe manufacturer or maybe from another aftermarket company like V&H, Kerker, or Delkevick.

I can't seem to find any from kerker or V&H. Will my '81 clamps fit the older model collars? Or will I need the clamps from the older model also?

I don't know. You can check Kawasaki.com or Partzilla to see if the clamps have the same part number.
