My bike as a loud tick that only starts after the bike has been ridden a bit, sounds like it is coming from the bottom end. I know it is very difficult to diagnose a sound on a forum...but just wanted some general advice.
I have a friend who works on bikes a bit and he thinks it is a bearing, which is not a small problem. I will be moving in a few months, I do not want to take apart the engine right now to take a look...
Any other things it could be? Say it is a bearing, is there any preventative measures I could do to maintain the engine until I can really dive in? I am going to do an oil change and was thinking of throwing in a heavier oil. I live in California and am moving to Maui so the oil getting cold is not an issue.
