Hello All,
this is my 1st time here. i recently replaced the engine on my 1982 KZ750. I knwo the engine is good as i saw it running on previous bike. However, after buttoning everything up, i cannot get it to turn over. I could even get the old engine to do that at least, before it crapped out. I am getting a spark from both plugs, i know gas is getting in the bowl, but i dont know why it wont turn over. i can get it to try with starter fluid, but thats it. Your help is greatly appreciated. Learning a lot of reading here, but nothing to help me yet.
thanks
Monty

It sounds like you're saying it does turn over but won't fire. It also sounds like you've done a fair amount of troubleshooting so I'm going to assume that you've already ruled out the possibility of having the plug wires reversed.
If the engine really is in running condition (compression, timing, valves, etc.) and you're getting a spark, it should run for a second or two with starter fluid. Does it do that much?
