 78 KZ1000 bogs was created by Hurstman1972
Just picked up a 78 KZ1000 and need advice on a full throttle bogging issue. A prior owner had added pods and a Kerker 4-1 with a race baffle, and the bike was quite loud. Too loud to even ride in my quiet neighborhood, so the first thing i did was R&R the race baffle with a street baffle. Much better on the racket, but at WOT the engine bogs. I did not have a chance to see if the problem was there with the race baffle. Otherwise, the old girl runs fine. Good advice is really appreciated, or if this has been addressed in another post, help finding that would be great. Thank you!

Considering the previous owner installed pods you may have a jetting issue. Ed

You may have to go down on the main jets and pilots. What do you have now?

Some more possibilities ---

Possible fuel level 'too high" issue (perform clear tube test).

Possible dirty pod filters.

Possible need to adjust throttle slide clip positions (to higher notch on the tapered jet needles).

Good Fortune! :)
