Rookie question:
What exactly do I have circled in the attached image? Kawasaki parts diagrams refer to it as the "engine cover" - I am confused on the differences between engine, derby, and points covers... Any clarity would be much appreciated.
Secondary question:
Would I find that this cover houses any parts if I were to remove it? A stator or anything? I just bought a 1980 KZ440 and haven't gotten a chance to delve into it at all; but, if at all possible, I'd like to eventually have this piece custom engraved with a personal design. Is this possible? Thanks in advance for any and all help!
