Looking for a KZ900 cylinder head was created by Skiprrdog
Hey everybody. Today cranked over 1976 KZ900 project and she started right up.Still need to tweak her some, little bit of backfiring, not bad. Compression was awesome on the bike, 190-210. I bought this bike to fix and sell, but I am kind of falling in love with it, and will probably keep it. When I bought it from the old timer, he did not mention, and I did not notice (D'OH!) that on the right side/front of the motor, it has some pretty catastrophic fin damage. Like I said, great compression, etc, but looking forward, I know at some point I am going to HAVE to replace that head. There seem to be exactly none on ebay...anyone have any clue about where someone might go to find a head for this bike?

Thanks!

Some shops like Joe Hooper at Pitstop in Florida can replace fins if needed

I too am a welder and by what I see you can fix that yourself. Weld the bottom first get good penetration and work your way up. I would be concerned about heat. Don't know if I would take the head off or not. If you had it off and if it did warp you could always get it decked. If you kept it on and warped the cylinder?
I would take it off.

Good luck ( I would use 4043 that's what the military uses on cast aluminum)
