Hi all, I'm rebuilding a z9 motor, come to rebuild the head I have 2 engines in bits, the shim buckets from this particular head are very tight I the head, they have been geting some heat in the past as they are blue in colour, they are very tight, what is the best way forward. The buckets from the other engine are also very tight. Pics to follow

Are all of them tight or just the exhaust?

Not common in those motors. Only seen that in motors that have been run for long periods of time at idle, or very slow speeds. Police bikes seem to have that problem.

If the buckets show that much heat, every piece of rubber in that motor must be cooked too!!!

Back in the 70s and 80s I had a few 900 and 1000s apart, but I never ran across one like that. I guess the thing to do would make sure a good one went in smoothly.
