Anybody with hands-on "J" engine trans experience?
I'm assembling the crankcase and noticed I have .040" clearance at 1st gear on the counter shaft. The two thick and thin thrust
washers are there between the gear and needle bearing. There are no specs for it. Is this normal or excessive? The only wear I see that could cause this is at the gear or where the gear stops on the shaft.
