Hi KZ Riders
I recently bought a semi burned Kawasaki Z1000R Eddie Lawson replica. I have now confirmed the bikes vin number and engine number corresponds with each other and certainly is a 83 ELR.
I started stripping the bike and found the most peculiar looking "link" thing under the left hand side cover. I own other Z's but have never seen such a thing on one of them.
Im posting a pic, maybe you guys know what it is and what the use of it?
I appreciate your time
Regards
Doc

It should be attatched to a cable IN the frame.
Its for locking your bike to stuff so it doesn't get stolen, pretty rare

Here's a link & a photo of the thing. There's a barb on the end of the cable which prevents removing it from the frame. If getting rid of it, I'd probably cut the cable & cap the frame tube. the cap is still available from the dealer. partzilla has a photo of the cap. One problem is that the cable probably lets water inside the frame.
