Sarter Issues with my 440 LTD please HELP!

So my starter went out. I wasn't sure exactly what it was at first so i replaced all of the fuses, and the starting solenoid. still nothing.. it was just clicking. so i got a hammer and while i held the starter button down i tapped on the starter and it struggled to turn over but it did a few times so i figured it was my starter! so i pull it out and purchased a rebuild kit. I must have taken that thing apart and put it back together 30 times.. I finally got it back together but now it spins the wrong direction. So i have taken it apart and switched the brushes and tried to re arrange everything possible in the starter and still turns the wrong way... At first when i got it back together i was super stoked it was working because i have never done a starter before.. once i got it in i realized that it was just spinning the gear.. so at first when i put it back in i thought i might have to replace the starting clutch. because it was just spinning the gear.. so i purchased a puller and pulled it off to find out that it was just fine... after i did a little more research online i found that the starter was turning in the wrong direction (counter-clockwise).... I am beyond frustrated with this thing. I have tried everything. i have tried searching by the part number (21163-1011) nothing.. the only options i have is to buy a USED one that's not even re-built on eBay and they want $235!!!! that's a damn rip-off.. you look up any other mitsuba sm-8203 or mitsuba sm-2 starter on eBay and they aren't half that price. So i thought i might be able to buy a used starter and swap some of the parts to make one good starter. bought one on eBay for 20$ swapped the parts i needed to make it work in my bike.. put it in the motor and STILL TURNING THE WRONG DIRECTION... if this damn bike didn't run so good i would have gotten rid of it by now..... that being said.. i cant see spending over $200 on a used starter that's not even rebuilt.. that's like almost a third of what this bike cost me all together... LONG story short i need some help.. is there a certain order the brushes go.. or certain placement? or is there anyone who has a spare starter they can sell me???? someone please HELP me before i run out of hair to pull out! Thanks!

How do you know it is spinning the wrong direction.
Which way is it turning the engine?
The same way as the wheels would turn as if you were riding the bike?

i spent half the day doing some research and on one of the other forums they said that its suppose to spin clockwise. (opposite of the wheel direction) plus when i pulled the starter clutch off it only would catch in one direction. (like it suppose to) and that direction was clockwise. plus i went on ebay and sent a question to the guy who was selling the $230 starter. it was for the same make and model year to mine and i asked him what way it spun when it was hooked up and he said clockwise.

When looking at the points the engine will turn counterclockwise.
Clockwise on the stator side. Opposite of most other bikes.

Correct from the stator side it is turning counter clockwise. Which is wrong. Think someone on here will sell one? Starter.
