plug holed up was created by KZGoodchild
Hey guys, just went to check my plugs, and when I went to put one in after cleaning up (gap etc.) it would only got 1/2 way and got hard to torque, didn't want to over do it, pulled it out, cleaned the threads in and out with some de-carbonite stuff cause I figured if I was running it loke that, it was gummed up... but still won't go in all the way... any thoughts, other than tapping it out ?

Cheers, and safe ridin' season brohters.
Mike.

Sounds cross threaded. When my daughter got her Honda CVCC it had one plug in 1/2 way. I took a old plug, put two slices in the sides with my skinny cutoff wheel and made a thread chaser. Carefully, little by little, back and forth, chased the threads. Sold the car two years later.

When restoring the threads in a spark plug hole -- To help avoid cross-threading, would use a backtap, aka reverse spark plug tap, which begins at the deep end of the spark plug hole and re-threads upwards.
