For some reason my kz750 shut off after a couple mins of running, one guy said it was my coil packs
..can anyway guve me some imputed on what to do

When it dies pull off a plug cap and install a spare plug and then hold it against the block while cranking the engine over so you can watch for spark. If it doesn't spark it could be the coils, or the ignitor, or the signal generators (although they are generally quite reliable).
If you have spark I'd try loosening up some of the carb bowl drain screws to see if you have fuel in the float bowls.
