Oil Pressure Gauge ???

Like to replace the oil pressure gauge that is currently mounted at the oil port on the right side of the motor on my 77' KZ1000A.

Gauge is a 2 1/4" O.D. 80 lb. reading with a 3/8" NPT male end.

Is there a recommended gauge preferably white face with this size male end that would screw into the 90 degree elbow already on the bike?

Lots on eBay. I got a Doremi gauge but blew it out. They sent me another one, it did the same thing. I kept the fittings and got a 60 PSI gauge for a sportster. My oil pressure is very high.

Now that I have the cooler installed. I'm going to put in a tap and hook up the gauge in my dash.

Since Kz 1000s run about 3 psi when hot I have a 15psi gauge on my bike. Its work perfectly since 1980

When motor is cold the gauge reads to 15 or a little more ,

but as the motor comes up to temp the psi drops to a steady 3 or so above idle speed

What manufacture and size of gauge are you guys using ? I'm assuming this is a Mechanical Gauge ? Do I look for a gauge that measures 3/8" O.D. at the male end threads that screw into the adapter ?

Steve, Identical to your Picture I have on my Bike. I measured Both threaded male ends at both the gauge and at the male threaded in that screws into the motor, it appears they measure 3/8".

My gauge registers 0-80 lbs., so I would like find a gauge like above that registers around 15 lbs.

The doremi gauges should work for you. I modified my oil pump so my pressure is too much for them to handle. Ebay

Steve, What diameter is your gauge ? I'm only finding 1 1/2" diameter with 1/8 NPT center back fitting ?

That's what they are. Why would you want a larger one? I had to take the bezel off in order to put the larger gauge on and it looked like crap.

That would be the right gauge in white or black face as listed
