Hi...I've got a set of 83-84 GPZ1100 cams I'd like to drop into a Z-1 style motor...I know I'll need adapter sprockets, etc....what I don't know and don't remember anyone reading or hearing is if those cams can be used with SOB (shim over/on bucket)...or must they use SUB (shim under bucket)...the GPZ design is shim under...just a little over stock engine....I guess I don't want to end up with a SOB story....but if it's safe, the shim over would be much more convenient for maintenance....thanks!...

Safe to use shim on top.
Kawasaki played it safe using shim under with those cams and did it mainly to unify the parts bin in line with the smaller fours.
