Hello all
I recent installed a new clutch cable on my 98 KZ1000P. I thought it went pretty easy, however I can't get the clutch adjusted property. First I'm completely loosening the cable at the midway point, then at the handlebar, then adjusting on the left side of the engine casing by loosening the jam nut. I've tried turning the screw clockwise and counterclockwise. I believe mine gets turned counterclockwise cause when I had it torn apart, I checked to see which direction pushed inward. One thing I noticed is that the screw is not easy to turn no matter what position it's in. It goes from difficult in either direction to comletely stopping. Once the screw stops turning, I then back it off a quarter to a half turn.

I've tried adjusting this clutch about a dozen times and everytime I tighten up the midway point adjustment, the lever works its way all the way out. However, there is no tension when I pull on the lever. I'm bout ready to take it to the stealer, but I really don't want to.

Thank you in advance for any advice/input. BTW I've read several postings on this forum, many related to my problem but still haven't gotten anywhere.

Thank you.

Did you carefully clean and re-lube the actuator when you had it off the bike? That screw should not be difficult to turn.

Thank for replying.
I did not. It seemed plenty lubed but I will relubricate just to be sure.
