Just bought an 83 KZ1100 shaft non-running. I noticed while pushing it around the garage that I could kick it down into 1st gear and it goes up into neutral fine but that's it. Won't go into 2nd. This was the second KZ1000/1100 that I looked at and both did the same thing. Does the engine have to be running to get it into 2nd?
Don't fix it until it's broken.

This is the 4th KZ I've owned and never noticed it before. No wonder neutral was always easy to find on them!
Don't fix it until it's broken.
