Ive been looking online and stuff but its hard to find any information on the 97 kz1000. Im interested in doing mods and hearing what others have done. I find stuff for other years, 2006+ or 83- but nothing around my years. Its whats the cops used so maybe people never bought them i dont know.
Im really interested in getting a new exhaust system, can someone point me in the right direction? Company and such, what years work with mine maybe i am just that old and cant research computers well...
I know later on ill want to know more on upgrades and what not on the entire bike.

You might be able to use an exhaust system that fits any BIg Kaw having that engine.
81-on 1000/1100 air cooled models, but not the 81 C4 police which had the earlier engine.
1000-J or R ELR. 1000-K Ltd or M CSR. 1100-B GPz. 1100-A shaft or L Ltd Shaft or Spectre.
maybe the ZN1100 or ZX1100-A GPz air cooled models. and of course anything that fits a P-model police bike.
non-stock system. a muffler bracket may have to be fabbed & center stand clearance could be an issue.
Delkevic may have something for your bike. Z1Enterprises.com. lists several different Delkevic systems for the various models listed above, but nothing specifically for the cop bike.

Delkevic produces a header specifically for our bikes and has two options for slip ons. The header part number is HDR0094, and the two slips are part numbers are PR2626 and PR2292. One is a classic straight and the other is a megaphone style. The slip ons are universal, but the Delkevic rep said they will work with the header, but we have to fab a hanger for the slip on.

From the pics I found on the 97 KZP, The bags and bracing hang substantially lower than yours Steve.
