Does anyone recall MTC valve springs K-304 for KZ900 + KZ1000? I'm wondering if they are for mild lift or high lift cams.

I called MTC to ask but they are closed for the day.

Today I spoke with Cliff at MTC. He looked through the old catalogs and couldn't find any info about the K-304 springs. He said MTC used to sell springs for up to .500 lift and then another set for higher lift cams. He believes the K-304 is for up to .500 lift.

I researched that part number and came up blank apart from quite a lot of sets for sale on EBAY etc ( one seller has 80 sets but doesn't list the application)
I came to the conclusion that with there being a lot about it was more likely they were for general fast road/race use rather than for very high lift cams or drag race.

Found a MTC catalog from the mid 80s and it shows the K304 springs but says nothing but they are made of chrome silicon steel and reverse wound for stability......... In the cam section it has #1 through #5 cams 2-5 full race with .435, .465, .480 and .510 for the hottest. They don't list any other springs so I'm guessing they are good for up to .510 as you said and maybe not up to the latest in quality but I bet they are very good. I've got a new old set of RC Eng springs for my 650 still in the pack that I'd never sell....... put in the Ape springs when I re did the motor.

In the back I had a list for my 650...... 831cc pistons, liners, rings and pins .... 240.95..... cams .388 lift, 285 duration....182.95...... Titaniom retainers 56.95.....seals...8.95, OS intakes....67.20 and guides...37.00....just over the price of the Wiseco piston set now for it all :woohoo: Was so close and yet so far $$$ wise.back then. ;)

Thanks for the input guys. With shipping they were about $20 cheaper than a new set of APE springs. Maybe not a good gamble but I bought them already and it looks like this time it worked out okay.
