750 L3 mufflers

has anyone put mufflers for other 750s onto an L3 with success no i dont want to put 4-1 on it i want to keep 4-2 i know the 82 gpz 750 and the 84 L4 750 are mostly the same but having problems finding any information on this subject i would like to put the black 4-2 from an 82 gpz mufflers on any help would be great even any leads on mufflers would be great thanx

The 750-L3, GPz. & KZ700-A muffler systems are probably interchangeable. If not identical, they're probably close enough. A typical fitment issue with a non-stock system is that a muffler bracket or center stand stop may have to be fabbed, but I bet not with the models listed. The 750 Shaft exhaust systems are similar, but the mufflers are different --- I don't think they have the large clearance recesses that the L3 has.

If not done already, you can compare the muffler diagram drawings at Partzilla or Kawasaki.com.
The Kaw site is more cumbersome to use, while Partzilla is about the easiest to navigate.

yes i agree they are most likely interchangeable i just don't want to buy mufflers from one of the other models for fear they wont fit and cant sell them after i would rather know for sure

all the draws look the same to me but have different part numbers hence the question of if anyone has actually put mufflers from one to the other

The difference in part number could just be the difference in color and mybe a difference in baffles or some such. You'll probably be safe with the 750E1 too since it was e predecessor to the others.

I still have the original pipes for my GPz, they aren't for sale but I can take some pics and make some measurements if you'd like.
