Can anyone point me in the right direction to adjust the clutch on my 440 belt drive? Found instructions for the chain drive, but those don't seem to apply to mine. I've had the clutch basket apart and the frictions look to have lots of meat on them still, but I did not measure them nor do I know what the spec should be.

Thanks for the reply. The cable is adjusted fine. Good free play and all, but the clutch slips.

Could be weak clutch springs.

What oil are you using? If it is not JASO-MA compliant it can make the clutch slip. I'm a believer because it happened to me. Ed

I think I'm just running generic oil. Maybe I'll get some new springs and do an oil change.

I suggest you look carefully at the oil containers when you buy for the oil change. If the container doesn't have "JASO-MA" printed on it you run the risk of ruining the clutch disks and making them slip. Most automobile oils (and all of them marked "Energy Conserving") contain friction modifiers that make wet clutches slip. Ed

Yes, it appears to be the same. Apparently the picture I have is too big.
