I have a 76 ltd 900 currently for sale... motor# is z1e-119062. that's a bit higher# than what zedder's website shows for the range of numbers ... I believe it is within range but prospective buyer is a little worried of higher# would like some educated input.. frame# is kz900b-501496,motor# is z1e-119062
thanks for the input.

Although zedder.com is a great initial resource, there are some discrepancies between what Mother Kaw says and what zedder says. For example zedder states that the motor numbers range from Z1E-086001 to 117973 while the Kawasaki Model Recognition Manual lists the starting point as Z1E-108503.with no end number listed. However, since Kawasaki started assembling big-bore motorcycles in Nebraska and Japan (yours, as you know, was assembled in Nebraska) in 1976...all the motors were imported from Japan so any congruence between frame and engine numbers (as in the Z1 line) was gone (since USA and Japan bikes each had unique frame VIN's). The range for engine numbers for the 1976 KZ900-A4 is listed as Z1E-086001 to 138846...motors from this same series were dropped into the KZ900-B1 model so your engine VIN discrepancy doesn't really bother me.
