Sure is. The shop that did my head actually set it up so the clearance was the same as before so I could use the same shims. They must have shaved the ends of the valves just right to match up the original height. But I did ask up front to make sure and not change the clearance.

APE valve height gauge is a good tool for tipping valve's.
I heard that if the stem is cut to much the bucket will hit the spring retainer
and let the keeper's out.

It's in the manuals. It would take a ham handed moron not to see it and take off too much. It must have happened, that's why the warning. :pinch:

Talked to the machine shop today, told me to bring it by for tipping the valve stems. I'll let you all know how it works out. Thanks for all the advice, Mark

Got the head back today. The machinist tipped the valve stems and kissed the keepers. Plenty of clearance now, He set the shims a bit loose for my taste, so I'll bring clearance to .178mm and put it all back together. Thanks for all your advice, Mark
