OEM Exhaust Compatibility

Guys, I think this topic has been hammered to death, but perhaps someone out there has a quick answer.

Will the OEM exhaust from a '78 Police bike fit an '86?

I would find a parts website with schematics and check the oem part # for the cylinder head for each bike, if the numbers match, at least the headers will line up. You'll also have to look at muffler bracketing to see if they might fit. Making a new backet would be easy though. Hope that helps get ya on the right track
