83 kz1100 ltd \"no start\" was created by mony
Just bought a couple of weeks ago, came with clymer manual. Won't start, only pop and pop back thru carbs occasionally. I have checked valve clearance, compression, and timing, all seem fine by specs. firing is fine except, 1&4 fire when 2&3 should. book says, green for left coil and black for right. switch them and it fires right plugs but still won't start! any help greatly appreciated.

black wire is 1 4 usually on the left
get a larger battery while cranking (jumper batt.)
try ether spray quick start
re check timing at 1-4 F mark
carb cleaning time possibly

Turn fuel petcock to prime. Allow float bowls to fill. Remove plugs and pour a splash of fuel down each hole. Quickly replace plugs and attempt to start.
