I've read where a couple of people have got the impression that the stock 2- into-2 w/crossover pipe exhaust is superior in performance compared to modern 2- into-1 replacement parts. That's why I was trying to patch rather than replace.
Had previously painted it w/ high temp BBQ paint but that didn't address the underlying issue of corrosion even though I did scrape it prior to painting, the rust was too far gone.

I have seen a cross over pipe replacement for sale but it was for a diff model year. Mine is a 1983 KZ750 LTD K w/ a "B" Code Twin engine. I might be able to buy a length of tube at a local auto supply store as I see they always have pliable replacement muffler tube for sale.

Another option would be to get a length of Stainless Steel Pipe, so you don't have to ever worry about it rusting out, like muffler pipe would, eventually750Kruzer wrote: Thanks much Ed. I like the copper pipe solution very much. Gets the job done.

Glad you got er done without having to dish out money for a new exhaust750Kruzer wrote: was very fortunate in that i couldnt find a small enough diameter pipe at the local auto part store as they deal in larger diameter exhaust pipes for cars. Went to my local MC shop down the road and they had a generic pipe there. MC mechanic was a real stand up guy and offered to cut it to lemgth and fit it up. Motorcyclists are the best.
