Lowest price for 80 ltd 550 motor?

I have a 1980 ltd 550 that I've been parting out. I'm going to sell the motor which has 8k miles and I just drained the oil. Was very clean. The bike did run but rough due to tuning issues from removing the stock airbox....how much do this thing go for. I know locally and online prices differ. Also it has high temp paint sprayed on my a mad man (me). I will try to remove most of it when I can

I bought a 81 550 chain drive motor for $125 locally. It has 11k with stator and carbs included.

I got 2 or 3 for free, and paid $50 each for 2 decent ones. But that was 10 to 20 years ago.

If it has good compression and looks decent, I'd say $100 is fair (for motor only, no carbs, no ignition, no alternator).

Harm got a good deal. Carbs alone can be $50 to $75.

I bought a bottom end for a Z500 for $200AUD and it was missing clutch cover, timing cover, timing mechanism and one piston.

That is what i figured It never hurts to have a spare. Plus its an 81 and has electronic ignition
