I've got a 1978 kz400 B1 with about 8,000 miles on her.

I was riding the other week and came to a stop sign. When I started crossing the intersection I noticed that the shifter peg was super lose / floppy. I could only shift up to 2nd gear by holding the peg up with my foot. I can also hold the peg down in 1st gear but that's it. I was able to get it home in 2nd. After some online research I'm thinking it's the "Shift Return Spring."

Does that sound right? It looks pretty deep in the bike so I wanted a second opinion before tearing into it. Anyone else experience this? I found pretty detailed instructions for getting to it on page 76 here:
