I fixed the throttle cable Issues. I think it has the wrong throttle cable. There was some sort of plastic adapter thing on the top of the carb cable mount, and I didn't know if it was original or not. Turns out it was some cobbed POS thing the kid who had this bike did, he must have replaced the cable and got a 750 one or something and there was about 1" of inner cable too long. So, I machined an outer cable adapter and slotted it and that made the cable feel nice, throttle has no slop, just right now. It DID improve the power some, but not where I think it should be. I will play with a main jet size leaner and see if that helps now.

Bear in mind the shaft is going to rob some power. Chain drives are quicker.

It IS a smooth running bike for sure, shaft has it's advantages like that....
SO I removed the top of the airbox as was talked about earlier, it has a snorkel that is only as big as maybe half the carbs. The filter is old, will get a new one, mice had chewed it a bit too... The back wall inside the airbox is a bit restrictive too, is close to the rubber inlet trumpets and I will open that hole up as much as possible. Attached a pic of the old snorkel and my new 1" aluminium angle air filter hold down. It could get water in it like this so I will make something better later, but not leaving it in the rain for now....

Ok, that was an improvement too, and still the old air filter in it. It pulled to 6,000 in top gear just up the road from here pretty quickly. Would have taken a lot longer to get there before. Found out the front wheel needs to be balanced LOL. Will trim the airbox wall and fit the new filter when I get it.

Take the filter out and run it. Paper filter won't breath if it has been wet or loaded up.
