81 KZ750 manual cam chain tensioner

Hello All: I had bad ticking and some knocking at start up until motor was very warm. I decided to check valve clearance and found that the auto tensioner was not working properly (ball lock). I ordered the Ape manual tensioner. I made a gasket and installed the item as specified. It works great, super easy install and the bike runs very quiet from the second I start it to the time it gets very warm. I decided to use the ape tensioner because of the info that I picked up on this forum.

I did same as you several years ago when I buggered up my old original one.
