I opened the cover to see if the cams were aligning. It seems like they are but I noticed when I turn the engine with a ratchet the center guide sprocket is skipping over some of the chain. Is it because of the cam tensioner?

Yup, if that is a Z with that much slop, there's likely some big money problems in there.

It's a 78 kz650c. I never ran the engine when it was in this condition I accidentally stripped the adjuster bolt on the cam tensioner. I'm a retard. But I ordered a used one from eBay. I was trying to aligne the cams tonight what a pain in the Fuckin ass. I'll just wait til the part gets here.
