One of my riding buddies just turned 80! He also just got out of the hospital, recovering from a broken back he got in a car accident. He's decided that he needs something lighter than his Honda ST1300!!!

I'm 33, I only wish I had discovered motorcycling sooner! I have only been riding a little under two years, but have logged probably 8-10k between two bikes, I have four kids a wife and don't really drink, riding my bike is hands down the best escape.

You be careful out there. ;) I became a single parent of a 7 and 10 year old in 89. I hadn't seen my kids in 6 years. That's when life changed for me. The women I knew didn't want kids and the bike sat more often than not. :( Finally it needed at least $1000 in engine parts so it got parked under a tree. It waited 15 years for me to get to it. Now I'm a grandpa and ride Bossie to see my grand kids every time I can. The 4 year old said "Bossie's awsome" (she gets that from her older sister). :P Back then it was all about the kids, now it's grandpa's turn. B) .

I wound up in the hospital in 11. Got out but there was no spark. :( I wanted the bike but no money. The car broke down and I had a choice. Do I get a tranny for the car, or get the bike back on the road? Scrapped the car, (too bad, it was a 93 euro) and focused on the bike. B) I still have my 69 F 250 so I wasn't stranded. This bike lifted me out of the Funk I was in. Who knew it was a classic?

Piece by piece, it got better and better. My morale is up and I'll stay in the saddle as long as I can. Now I just point my head light and go. :woohoo:

My dad had a buddy named Leonard Pash back in the 60's who was an avid biker, but had been in several serious wrecks. Half the bones in his body were held together by pins and his spine was messed up. We drove our old MG over to his place one time, he was going to do some body work on it. Leonard let's loose one of the truly hilarious quotes of all times:

"I'd never drive one of these sports cars. They ain't safe."
