They usually rust at the crossover connector pipe --- some guys have done a repair by using 1" copper pipe & fittings.
If the mufflers are shot, reproduction are available. Below is a photo of Verner-650's bike w/ aftermarket mufflers, but I don't know exactly which ones (probably Emgo dunstall replicas. ???).

Nope, 1980 kz750h ltd. Hence the above questions on if it would fit.
