Exhaust Compatibility
21 May 2015 08:14
Hello all,
I have been looking to replace the stock baffleless (PO's doing) exhaust with a 4-1. I have found a 1995 zx ninja 750 exhaust for sale. I have done some research and want to confirm that the zr-7, kz650, and gpz750 are compatible with my 1981 kz750. Does anybody know if the zx ninja 750 exhaust will bolt up to the head?
(as a side note, if anyone is interested in selling one that would be awesome)
Thanks

I am sure someone more knowledgeable than myself will chime in, but it is my understanding that pretty much ANY (air cooled!) small Kaw 4 (550/650/750) will fit on any other...cylinder spacing is the same, you just have to fab a custom strap for the hanger bracket...my buddy mounted my original pipes (78 650) onto his 82 550 ltd...(granted, the pipes stick WAY out back, & he had to lose his centerstand, but they FIT...) ;o) edit: I DO have a kinda beat up V&H header I might be willing to part with...PM me...

If it's a ZX750-L3, then no. Anything with a radiator or an angled cylinder head or angled carbs won't fit.

There are several nice water cooled 750 exhausts on ebay. I was looking at them for my 750E but the angle of the pipes looks different for sure.
