I notice the petcock is leaking. Drops only. Looking with a flashlight it appears to be leaking at the tank connection and weeping down. It is not leaking at the valve or hos. Figure I will take if off and look at the tank mating area and the gasket it's a gravity petcock how hard can rebulid be? What say he. R

The seal between the tank and petcock is rubber, Probably all cracked and deteriorated. Also the bowl seal is rubber and likewise on it. I'm not sure the gaskets are still available, so may have to make your own.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationTake a close look at the washers on the 2 bolts that hold the petcock to the tank. They should be nylon NOT metal. If they are metal replace them with nylon washers. Some folks who don't know any better replace the stock nylon washers with metal ones and then they leak. Ed

They are part number 92022-183 and look like these:

SO there was about a thimble full of crap in the cup. The cup gasket broke coming out. Washers are nylon. Cleaned everything up. The tank mating surface was also pretty cruddy. Cleaned that up too. The main oring seal on the tap will need to be replaced as it was very worn. Made a gasket for the cup. Bolted it back on with even torque and it is holding gas now. Will see what morning brings, The tap itself was good, the valve held pressure on off and switched to res and main tubes smoothly. R
