I have an 1981 kz750e and I have done a complete rebuild on it and I one clutch plate broke so I replaced just the one clutch plate and also I put on a new clutch cable now for the bad my starter clutch is out so I have to push start it no big deal for me but as I went Down my street I dropped first gear and let go of the clutch but it just kept going like it was in neutral I tried to adjust the cable at the frame and at the hand lever and still nothing it just rolls around like it's in neutral anything would help thanks !!!!!

First - make sure the lower end of the clutch cable is properly seated in the left engine case. If it is not seated in the case properly it will keep the clutch disengaged.

Second - adjust the clutch properly using the procedure in the Kawasaki Service Manual. Adjusting the clutch cable at the lever and the center adjuster won't help (that does not adjust the clutch release - it only adjusts the cable) unless you properly adjust the clutch release mechanism. Ed
