The Pro Pipe/drag model is the only header V&H has available for the KZ1100A. I prefer leaning into right turns which could be problematic with that one. Other than the Mac, the options for my bike are basically none.swest wrote: Why did they say forget it? Your stinger is lower than mine, is that it?

Regarding my stinger...I don't know. I'll ask my wife.

I believe that model was designed specifically for the 1982 KZ1000-JDale5256 wrote: Do u think the 13009-J will fit the 1982 LTD 1000
You may have to take the chance and modify something to make it work on your bike. In my case, the rear foot-rest bracket is longer than the KZ1000-J, requiring a spacer on the collector flange, and the megaphone mounting tab needed to be tweaked to align properly. The megaphone slips over the header by only 5/8", but it works very well...oil/filter changes are a breeze, and the center-stand comes in handy more often than not. The baffle options V&H has available for this header make a typical Harley sound like crap.

Dale5256 wrote: I have a 1982 LTD 1000 with stock air box which runs perfect. Vance & Hines does not make header for this model. I would like to install a vance & hines header on this bike with a baffle. I will be keeping the stock air box. I will rejet. This is a steet bike. This bike is very quiet with stock exhaust. Would like to make a little more noise for safety sake also is 1 jet size big enough? Thanks for the help
Put up a pic of the right side of your bike so that we can help you chose.

The 13009-J might possibly bolt right up, but have your bike right side up before trying it.
You might research the rear peg mounting bracket, if it is the same part number as the 1000-J. If so, you may have a no-brainer project.
