83 GPZ 750 rear wheel 18x3 fit on 82 GPZ 750?
18 Apr 2015 18:43 - 18 Apr 2015 19:02
I am getting a 82 GPZ 750. I would like a wider rear wheel than the stock 2.15. Will a 83 rear wheel fit. I believe the width is 3.0. Please correct me if I am wrong

OK, now I see a 18 x3.0 GPZ wheel on Ebay. Man, these sizes are confusing. I think sellers are estimating size !! Guys please educate me on this topic.

The correct tire for that width rim is a 130 / 80 only 10 mm wider than the stock 82 120 / 80.
If it were up to me I'd keep the stock rim and spend the money on premium rubber. Continental is now making radial tires to fit our vintage bikes. "Classic Attack", pricey but very good.

...Just put a set on my '82 GPz750. Got them off of eBay from chaparralmotosports. They had the best price over all, $185 shipped for the pair.
...So far, so good! Have just over 350 miles on them and I'm very satisfied with their handling.

I'm using a zx750 rear on my 550, you might need to change the bearings as the rear spindle might be different. I'd get a front too, it might look a bit odd having a 3 spoke on the back and a 7 spoke on the front.
If you go for the zx front, you can use bigger 280mm discs from either the 1100 or 750 turbo.

...Ooops! Yes, that should have been $285 for both delivered. Sorry!
...$137.88 for the front.
...$147.88 for the rear.
...Sorry for the me-stake!

The 1100 unitrack rears were 17", probably a 750 rear.
