Hi I had a similar problem a few years back. After searching and testing and cleaning the carbs a few times, I happened to check the screws which connect the individual carb linkage to the long rod which is attached to the bell crank to which the cables are attached. Sorry if my terms are incorrect, but basically check the screws that hold the linkage to the carbs. I found one of mine was loose which allowed that carb to lag behind the rest when slowing down.( shutting the throttle). The yellow factory "Locktite" dried out after more than 30 years, go figure! Good luck and cool bike.

This is stretching it but one time when I had hanging revs I had put my tank back on and the tank was pinching the throttle cable. Oops. Just something easy to check

I forgot to update this. I was warming up my bike. I heard a little bit of air escaping. One of my vacuum plugs had a tear in it. The factory plug on the 3rd carb holds up great. The new rubber plugs need replacing almost every year. Anyway, one new plug later and my bike was running great. Took her around the block and she ran fine.
