Vesrah is the brand I have heard of and they have a decent reputation. The risk with ebay is you never know if it's been sitting on the shelf for 20 years. It may be fine, but you always take a chance that way.

I have no idea about the oil seals, same warning though.

NOTE:

Amazon sells the same Vesrah kit for $6 less and free shipping and their sellers are usually more reputable.

I'm putting faith in Vesrah for my top end rebuild, they are made in Japan and I purchased the kit from Z1 enterprises.
But I am going to use an OEM O- ring for the cam chain tunnel even though the kit has an aftermarket one included.

I don't have an alternate source for seals. By coincidence, the vendor selling those seals on ebay is RustyRiders LLC and I bought valves and shims for my 750 twin about 5 years back when I did my rebuild. I had good luck with that vendor, all the parts were 100% good. So at least that is good news.

I'd pass on Vesrah and get real OEM Kawasaki gaskets. Lots of guys on the GS Resources site have had issues with leaking base gaskets using Vesrah. The cost savings isn't great enough to justify the risk and durability issues.

The base gasket from my Athena set failed so I made one using the Auto Zone gasket material. Worked very well.

I've got the Vesrah kit in my motor and have NEVER had a leak.
I've had the clutch cover off about five or six time's and it still does not leak.
I think most leak's are from the install not the gasket's themself.

Did this Athena base gasket fail because I installed it wrong?

Use Vesrah if you want. I'd rather spend a little more for OEM.

Looks exactly like the Athena gaskets that failed on my rebuild, except mine was on a 750 twin. The green colored gaskets all failed once they got hot. They got brittle and disintegrated into bits and it only took a few days. Base gasket and oil pan were the most obvious because the pieces were falling out. I don't know what material that green stuff is, but it's useless.

I agree OEM are better if you can find them, but the material I got at Auto Zone worked great for the ones I couldn't like the base gasket and oil pan.
